Our kindergarteners lent a helping hand to Mrs. Allen and her students to plant in our hydroponics station! Now we get to whisper positive thoughts to the plants and watch them grow!! 🥬🌱

🚧 The Cowley Road railroad crossing will be closed starting October 14 for approximately 3 weeks. 🚗 Detour signs will direct traffic to the Delaplaine Road crossing. 🚲 Pedestrians, students, and cyclists are encouraged to cross at Longcommon Road.

October = Growth Mindset 🌱✨ From learning new instruments in music class, to running with Cardio Kids and building with STEM tools, our Bulldogs are embracing challenges, persevering, and growing every day! 🎶🏃♀️🧠

Teamwork makes the dream work! ✨🐾💪💙 Today our whole school came together to celebrate September’s focus on teamwork. Our 5th graders led the way, sharing how they practiced teamwork and inspiring younger students to do the same. We also recognized students who went above and beyond as teamwork award winners! We introduced our next focus for October: growth mindset 🌱— we can’t wait to see all the ways our students will grow!

More Rainbow Run fun!! 🌈

The 2025 Rainbow Run was a blast! 🎨🌈 🏃♂️ Our Bulldogs ran their hearts out, got splashed with color, and celebrated with pizza and popsicles. It was the perfect way to kick off the school year! Thank you to the Blythe Park PTA, staff, and families for making this amazing event possible! 🐾🎉😊

A little recess magic—our students made a new butterfly friend today!🦋

We are thrilled to be ranked in the top 50 of best public elementary schools in Cook County by Chicago Magazine! Our students and staff work hard to make the Blythe Park community a great place to learn and grow — we appreciate being recognized!
According to Chicago Magazine, performance measures were based on 2023-24 data which included IAR growth, attendance, and the 5Essentials survey. Way to go, Bulldogs!

All visitors must check in at the front office with an ID during school hours using Door A (south doors) at 735 Leesley Road. Check in at Door B (north doors) for the Tuesday evening session. Both sessions will take place in Blythe Park’s Library on the lower level.

Happy first week of school!! It is so much fun to be back with our friends, teachers and Benny the Bulldog!! We are going to have a great year 💙🐾

Elementary students will have slightly adjusted school hours starting with the 2025/26 school year. The elementary school day will begin at 8:10 AM and end at 3:00 PM. Supervised drop off begins at 7:50 am; students should be in their classroom when the bell rings at 8:10 am. Dismissal is promptly at 3:00 pm. If needed, before and after care is available through Riverside Parks and Recreation.
This change allows us more instructional time for reading, writing, and physical education throughout the week, while also improving lunch, recess, and transition times. The updated elementary lunch hour is 11:20 AM–12:20 PM.
Building principals will send a more detailed welcome email the first week of August. Early Learner and Hauser schedules remain the same.
