Dear District 96 Families,
School is open tomorrow, Feb. 12, 2025. I am sending this message due to the current weather forecast and the fact that a number of school districts are opting for an E Learning day tomorrow. We are not. We will be open for school as usual. Our after school clubs and activities are canceled. According to recent weather forecasts, snow may increase over the course of the day. We understand that the conditions will support safe travel to and from school tomorrow. Please know that the safety and well being of our students, our families and our staff members are always our top priority. While weather conditions can be unpredictable we believe that our work with the local villages, department of public works and up to date weather forecasting allow for a meaningful day of student learning tomorrow. Dress warmly, travel safely and we look forward to seeing you in school.
Sincerely Yours,
Martha Ryan-Toye
Superintendent

Blythe Park students danced the night away at this year's Snowball Dance! Big thanks to Kayan Tang and the entire PTA for organizing such a fun event for our students!

Happy 100th Day of School Blythe Park!

Here are a few pictures from Blythe's January All School Assembly. Our third graders led the meeting and put on skits about how classmates and friends show responsibility. We also celebrated those students who did an amazing job demonstrating responsibility throughout January! Bulldog Pride!💙🤍

STEM challenge! Fifth graders had eight minutes to construct the Eiffel Tower. Brilliant minds working together! 💙🤍

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr., Monday will be a non-attendance day for students and staff.

First graders in Ms. Pinta's class earned an extra recess for making great social choices during lunch/recess throughout the month of December. The snow could not have come at a better time!❄️☃️

The fall season of Cardio Kids draws to a close with our annual Cocoa Run. This year, due to the cold weather, our last run looked more like elf exercises in the gym. Thank you to our amazing PTA for providing hot chocolate and cookies, and huge thanks to all our parent volunteers who helped us out throughout the season! See you in the spring!

Blythe Park's November All School Meeting celebrated students' success practicing their emotional management skills. It also introduced December's character focus- integrity. Our amazing fourth graders gave presentations about setting boundaries and healthy ways to express frustration. During the school-wide greeting, students shared how they were thankful for one another. 🧡💛🦃

Come shop the Blythe Park PTA Book Fair! It's the place to be!💙🤍

Tuesday, November 5, is a non-attendance day for staff and students.

Thank you to our hard working PTA for organizing our Halloween magic show and classroom party volunteers. Thanks also to all the families who volunteered to help carve pumpkins and plan the games and activities for the classroom parties. You made Halloween so much fun for the children!

Blythe Park Halloween Celebration 2024!

Thanks to diligent monitoring and testing of the water's ph levels by our amazing fifth graders, the lettuce in Blythe's hydroponic garden flourished! The students enjoyed an all-school salad a month earlier than anticipated. Big thanks to Mrs. Allen for teaching our students about hydroponic gardening and organizing our salad celebration!
